He plead guilty to both counts and served 32 months in federal prison. On October 19, 1992, he was arrested and charged with drug trafficking and money laundering. He began to sell crack cocaine, and he was pretty good at it, netting $500 to a $1,000 a week. His grades slipped and his scholarship was rescinded. Trung went on to college at Texas Southern University, and there he lost his footing. I asked Barney Frank what he thought about his colleague saying that. It should just make exceptions for those cases that merit it. And Republican congressmen like Lamar Smith have been saying for years now that INS does not need a new law. If something bad happens, politicians should take the heat for it. Now, the Republicans say that is just fine. If Janet Reno or the INS pardon somebody who then went on to commit terrible crimes, the Attorney General and her party and its candidates- they are the ones who would take the blame. In fact, the INS itself has the power to look the other way in any case and not deport somebody. Janet Reno could issue an order allowing Mario Fredas, or any other potential deportees, to stay in the US. He's exactly right, by the way, that the Attorney General has the power under current law to stop deportation of anybody who she thinks is deserving. This is the kind of place where it seems like every little store and doctor's office has a Portuguese name, and where many first-generation Portuguese immigrants never learned to speak English. A section of Moby Dick where Ishmael meets up with whalers from all over the world is set in New Bedford. And Portuguese immigrants have been coming here since the 1790s, because this was a major whaling town, and the Portuguese islands, the Azores, were full of whalers as well. New Bedford and Fall River are both really pretty port towns, with cobblestones, colonial-looking downtowns, and small houses on streets winding back from the waterfront. Congressman Barney Frank argues that most of his colleagues had no idea what they were voting for when they voted for key portions of this law, and an advocate for the law explains why we should want to deport more people.Īct Three, Man Without a Country. Most of the law's original sponsors in Congress now say they went too far, they were too harsh when they passed the law, and yet most of the law's key provisions still stand unchanged and unchallenged. If you had standalone decks you wouldn't necessarily need a Faderfox device, there is a company called Retrokits and they offer small form factor MIDI USB host devices for less than 200 which, when paired with a Launch Control XL are on par with Faderfox boxes.Ī very nice aspect of these external USB hosts is that you can control devices in your computer and external hardware such as a drum machine, at the same time. If ice pick headaches slowly increase in frequency, always occur in the same place in the head, are always one-sided, and/or are triggered by head movements or bearing down, this could be a sign that there is a potential secondary cause for the stabbing headaches (something else going on like injury to a brain structure).Ĭan Ice Pick Headaches Be Caused by Eye Strain? ![]() It is unknown what causes ice pick headaches. Ice pick headaches can come with nausea or other associated symptoms like light sensitivity, according to the International Headache Society. It is typical for a person to have either a single stab, or a series of stabbing pains that last seconds, occurring at random in a day without any associated autonomic symptoms (tearing, sweating, congestion, eye redness, eye drooping, etc.). Ice pick headaches, formally known as primary stabbing headaches, are brief stabs of pain that occur at random in a relatively small area of the head. While they may be harmless, sometimes they can be a sign that something else may be occurring. It is important, however, you mention them to your health care provider. The intensity and seeming randomness of the sudden onset of ice pick headaches can be frightening, but sometimes also easily forgotten about.
You may see the dreaded “system turned off to save battery” message when turning on the car in an absolutely normal way. *more about this noted below because I understand no one will get the sticker gas mileage because no one drives on a perfect track with no wind and at perfect temperatures…etc and I will get around 14/20 in the winter in the city. One of Wang's contemporaries, Lao Naixuan 勞乃宣 (1843–1921), later adapted Guanhua zimu for use in two Wu dialects, those of Ningbo and Suzhou. After returning to China in 1900, he taught his system in various parts of North China, but the government banned it in 1901. This system was modeled on Japanese katakana, which he learned during a two-year stay in Japan, and consisted of letters that were based on components of Chinese characters. 官話字母 Guānhuà zìmǔ, developed by Wang Zhao (1859–1933), was the first alphabetic writing system for Chinese developed by a Chinese person. General Chinese is not wholly a romanisation system, but consists of two alternative systems: one uses Chinese characters as a syllabary of 2082 glyphs, and the other is a romanisation system with similar spellings to Gwoyeu Romatzyh. It can also be used for the Korean, Japanese and Vietnamese pronunciations of Chinese characters, and challenges the claim that Chinese characters are required for inter-dialectal communication in written Chinese. It is "the most complete genuine Chinese diasystem yet published". General Chinese is a diaphonemic orthography invented by Yuen Ren Chao to represent the pronunciations of all major varieties of Chinese simultaneously. |
